Doesn't digestion just destroy collagen before it can do anything?
It breaks it down, and that's the point. Collagen is hydrolysed into peptides and amino acids precisely so it can be absorbed. Some of those peptides survive intact and act as signalling molecules once they reach the skin. You're not eating collagen to “become” collagen; you're delivering the building blocks and the trigger that tells your body to make its own.
Can't I just use a collagen face cream instead?
Collagen molecules are far too large to pass through the skin barrier from a cream. They sit on the surface and wash off. To reach the dermis, where collagen is actually built, it has to come from within. That's the whole reason DY1 is taken, not applied.
Why combine all three actives instead of taking them separately?
Because they're interdependent. Collagen peptides are the raw material, vitamin C is the cofactor that turns them into finished collagen, and hyaluronic acid holds the water that makes the result visible. Any one without the others is a job half done. Dosing them together is what makes the system work.
Marine or bovine collagen: does the source matter?
What matters for skin is collagen type, not the animal it came from. Skin is built mainly from Type I and Type III collagen. DY1 uses multi-source peptides selected to deliver exactly those types, hydrolysed for high absorption.
How long until I actually see something?
Hydration changes are often noticeable within the first couple of weeks. Firmness and elasticity are slower. Most clinical studies measure those gains around the eight-week mark. Collagen is a rebuild, not a filter, so consistency is everything. Daily use is what compounds the result.
Is it safe to take every day?
Collagen peptides, hyaluronic acid and vitamin C are all well tolerated for daily use at these doses. DY1 is designed to be a daily ritual. As with any supplement, if you're pregnant, nursing or managing a medical condition, check with your doctor first.
